The House of Houdini, the Hungarian Hollywood Council, Origo Film Group Zrt., Eötvös10 Cultural Center, and the National Capital Circus of Budapest are organizing a film festival as part of the Houdini 100™ Memorial Year.

The goals of the film festival are:

a) To preserve the memory of Harry Houdini – Erik Weisz.

b) To strengthen the cinematic language and creativity of younger generations.

c) To maintain the interest of younger generations in the achievements of Hungarian film culture and its creators, as well as the Hungarian role in the creation, operation, and flourishing of Hollywood, and their current contributions.

The film festival is specifically announced for young people and students in two categories:

a) Under 18 years old

b) Over 18, but up to 25 years old

Films to be submitted to the festival:

a) Can be made with a smartphone or any other recording device.

b) Must be a maximum of 15 minutes long.

c) The theme is “magic” – Houdini did not use real magic, but dazzled his audience through a masterly blend of physics, psychology, and technology. The films’ subject matter can cover any area or segment of life but must follow the concept of “magic.”

d) Must be in mp4 format.

e) Submission deadline: no later than September 30, 2026, to the address
