On behalf of the HOUDINI100™ Organizing Committee, we are pleased to share the program of events planned for the final week of October in Budapest.
Arrival – October 29, 2026
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Transfers from the airport to the hotel.
5:00 PM: Official Opening of HOUDINI100™ – Welcome drinks and light refreshments upon arrival.
Private tour of the House of Houdini, hosted by David Merlini, featuring live magic performances.
7:00 PM: Magic Dinner– “Magic Unlimited” At special venue.
October 30, 2026
10:00 AM Gathering at The Moments Hotel (Andrássy út 8, 1061).
10:15 AM Leaving to ORIGO FILM STUDIO.
11:00 AM Commemorative Plaque Ceremony at Origo Film Studio.
12:30 AM Grand Opening of the HOUDINI100 Varázslat Film Festival At Eötvös 10. Organized by The Hungarian Hollywood Council. Special screening of Play Dead, a film by Shade Rupe, co-written by Teller from Penn and Teller.
15:00 PM Lock Picking Seminar and Contest.
Held by Dr. Imre Elek, lock expert from the Hungarian National Forensic Institute. A hands-on workshop exploring the art and science of lock picking with the cooperation of ELZETT, the legendary Hungarian lock factory. Venue: The House of Houdini.
Optional activities if not interested in the above: Thermal spa, river cruise, or guided sightseeing. Please let us know your preference and we will advise the best option.
6:00 PM Centenarium Magic Auction.
Held by Prof. Dr. Peter Gloviczki at the House of Houdini. Please see catalogue.
Refreshments and finger food will be served.
11:00 PM “Houdini: The Midnight Message” Show – A seance style theatrical show in the very street where Harry Houdini was born..

11:00 AM George Hardeen Symposium at The House of Houdini
A tribute and scholarly gathering honoring Houdini’s brother, Theodore Hardeen, and his legacy in the world of magic.
5:00 PM The Grand Houdini Show at the National Circus.
The Houdini extravaganza show, a spectacular live show marking 100 years since Houdini’s passing with the blending of escapes, circus acts in an unusual vision by director László Magács.
7:30 PM Grand Gala Dinner at Gundel
An elegant evening at Budapest’s legendary Gundel restaurant, celebrating the closing of an unforgettable weekend, “World renowned Chef” András Wolf will be delighting us with Houdini’s favorite dishes with a modern twist.
November 1, 2026
CLOSING DAY
11:00 AM Visiting Kozárdi Kamra: A journey into the Hungarian countryside to meet Houdini, the local celebrity rabbit. The final accord of our centennial event features fine regional wines, traditional pálinka, and an authentic, Michelin- rated lunch.
